Weather

Winter thermometer

Snowstorms in the winter and heatwaves in the summer are hallmarks of living in Northern Utah, but springs and falls are absolutely gorgeous. Springs warm gradually, and temperatures can swing wildly from day to day. This fluctuation in temperature gives rise to sudden spring thunderstorms and high winds that roll across the area a few times throughout the spring and summer. As the full heat of summer comes around in July, most days are clear with very little precipitation. Temperatures are often in the 80s and 90s, but days over 100 aren’t uncommon.

Fall temperatures cool down into a very pleasant range, and many residents take advantage of this cooler weather to get outside and enjoy hiking, biking, camping, and fishing. Winters are cold, but not as cold as some think. Temperatures rarely get into the teens in the winter but certainly can. Most of the cold temperatures and famous snow is much higher in the mountains. The Great Salt Lake also helps keep the surrounding areas a bit warmer.
